Ruth Sisters Fellowship International recently distributed substantial support to sisters in need through our ongoing Barley Project initiative. Following our successful Biannual Prayer Breakfast Meeting fundraiser in March 2024, resources were allocated to women ministers and ministry wives facing economic hardships, medical challenges, and family crises.
The Barley Project takes its name from the biblical story of Ruth gleaning in Boaz's barley fields - a reminder that God provides for His own through the generosity and compassion of His people. Through this initiative, we demonstrate that overcoming spiritual emptiness includes practical care for our sisters' physical and material needs.
Recipients included a minister's wife whose husband lost employment, an evangelist facing medical bills after surgery, and several sisters supporting their families as single mothers. Each received financial assistance, prayer support, and ongoing mentorship from fellowship leaders.
This project embodies our mission to educate, embrace, and support fellow sisters. As women who understand what it means to be made empty by life's circumstances - through famine, dejection, loneliness, or helplessness - we stand together offering not just prayers but tangible expressions of God's love and provision.
